Marketing Plan
I just finised up my part of my groups marketing plan, Im surprised how much I enjoy this project. Although it was a lot of work and sometimes challenging working on a group project but not face to face with your group, everyone really work hard and well together to get everything in on time and make sure it was a good quaility product. It has really shown me what all goes into marketing and how much work it takes. I can understand now how marketing is simple not just advertising its so much more than that and I have come to have a new apprectation for it. It was actually kind of fun learning more about marketing.
Green marketing in real life
I ran a 5k race last night and it happened to go along a lot with my last blog. The 5k was a race for open space and everything about it was "green" friendly and grean marketing. I thogh it was pretty cool to see first hand a business ( a Mexican resturant was the one putting it on) helping to protect the enviroment and working towards a "green" community. The resturant that put on the race is a 2 star certified green resturant it was putting cool to see first hand a company involed in green marketing.

Applying what we have learned..
As I have been working this week to put together the final group project it has been interesting to me how I am able to pick certain things out from my company that we have learned about during the past 6 weeks, such things as, how the compete with their competetoirs, what they do for advertising, what they do to promote "green marketing", and many others. One thing that caught my eye on their website was the page about how they are ( I should mention the company I am talkig about is Anheuser Busch) committed to helping the envirment. Some of th things they have done in the effort is; reducing water use each year, using renewable fuel in brewing some of their beers, recycling their solid waste, reducing the material in our fiber, aluminum and glass packaging, and educating their employees and customers on ways they can help the envirment. It is really neat to see such big companies work had towards helping the envirment!

Best forms of Advertising
Since adertising is what naturally comes to most peoples minds when they hear marketing and having just read a chapter dealing with advertising I was curious to see what people consider the best form of advertising. Of course the best type is going to vary depending on the type of company, the size, and the customer base but I found a website that had 8 popular and commonly used types of advertisement and I would say they are very accurate. One of the ways listed which I would not normally think of when I think about advertisement is word of mouth. I would not think of that if having to lost ways of advertising but it certainly is one and I would have to say it almost is the best. What better way to get a company name out there then by hearig about it from someone who had a positive experience with it!

Competitive Companies
Enlight of chapter 19 and reading about price and non price competition I decided to research most competivitive companies. I came across one website that listed 20 competitive compaines. One statement in the article that caught my eye was ,"Just being the biggest does not mean you are the best," said Dr. Margaret Johnson, director of Tech-Economy.org. (tech-economy is the company that research and ranked the companies) I thought that this was something to think about becuase you pften think that large companies and the ones doing th best and must make the most profit but sometimes the little companies get a strong following and can do even better than larger companies. It was interesting to see what all made it onto the top 20, it was a great varity of different types of companies, from computer and electronics, to food and beverage, retail, and banking, the list varied greatly but it was interesting to see that the top there were computer companies. The top 5 companies were, 1) Microsoft 2)Dell Inc. 3) Intel 4) Pfizer and 5) Cisco Systems. The complete list and article can be found at the following link.
